Abstract

Taking as its starting point a detailed analysis of the poem “Noite e nevoeiro - Alain Resnais (1955)”, from the book Movimentos no Escuro (2005), in its discursive, documental and interartistic ramifications, this study seeks to undertake a critical reflection on the modalities of poetic resistance which have structured the work of Jose? Miguel Silva (b. 1969) since his very first book (O Sino de Areia, 1999). It is intended that the empirical study favors a theoretical questioning of the complex correlations between poetry, trauma, testimony, historical effect and political position, based on the work of thinkers such as Jean-Luc Nancy, Jacques Rancie?re, Paul Ricoeur, Jacques Derrida, Giorgio Agamben or Dominick LaCapra, but also a historical-literary equating membership of the author and his poetics to a lineage of poetry in Portuguese where the "sense of the world" by Carlos Drummond de Andrade and the "ever vigilant conscience" of Jorge de Sena pontificate.
