The language of videopoetry and a reading of “Fevereiro”, by Matilde Campilho
Abstract
The present work has the objective, initially, to briefly reconstruct the artistic-cultural context in which, in the passage from the modern era to the contemporaneity, were satisfied the necessary conditions for the emergence of new discursive modalities based on the intercrossing between word, sound and image. Therefore, we will discuss the main aspects involved in the conformation of videopoetry as a properly interartistic discourse of hybrid genre, pointing out how the conjugation of signs carried out by videopoetry also results in the uniqueness of its possible reading experience; and finally, we aim to make one of the many possible types of analysis of the videopoema “Fevereiro”, by Matilde Campilho, in order to perceive specifically some semantic relations that are established in the interaction between two of its dimensions: verbal and visual.
